Physical Education

PE developments at Leonard Stanley Primary School are achieved through a fun, high-quality physical education curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel individual’s abilities in competitive sports and other physically demanding activities. We will provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness. Children experience swimming, judo, cycling, gymnastics and a wealth of other sports as part of the PE curriculum in addition to a games session every Friday for children in Year 3 and above.

‘Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it’ Michael Jordan

My Happy Mind

We are proud to be a part of the myHappymind Family!

As a whole school programme grounded in science and dedicated to building positive mental wellbeing, myHappymind helps children understand how their brains work and creates a culture that helps to build children's resilience, confidence, and self-esteem. myHappymind also teaches the children how to self-regulate and manage their emotions in stressful times, allowing them to be their very best selves!

PSHE & RSE

At Leonard Stanley Primary School, we believe that PSHE (personal, social, and health education) & well-being enable all children (including SEND) to become healthy, independent, and responsible members of society, both online and offline.

We teach PSHE & Well-Being (with a focus on mental health) to enable everyone to embrace change, feel positive about themselves and enjoy healthy, safe, responsible and fulfilled lives. Weaving through the PSHE teaching is the commitment to enhancing and promoting the school Christian Values and British Values.
