Art & Design
Art
We believe that all pupils should have the opportunity to learn how to express themselves through their artwork. We want our pupils to develop a lifelong love of art and appreciation of different styles, techniques, and artists throughout their time at our school. We want our children to experience a broad curriculum that provides them with the knowledge and skills to create their own pieces of art that showcase both their individuality and their understanding of their place as global citizens. Whenever possible, we will use our school environment to enhance our art lessons and the pupil’s experiences.

Design & Technology (DT)
DT
We believe that all pupils should have the opportunity to learn how to use a variety of tools, techniques, and materials to enable them to design, create, and evaluate projects. We believe this knowledge will help to develop their natural curiosity and encourage them to make their own creations. Within our DT lessons, we discuss the importance of choosing materials carefully to consider the environmental impacts they may have, using a range of dt skills and be able to evaluate thier work according to the design brief.
Music
Music
Children learn a rich music curriculum. We use Gloucestershire Music for dedicated music sessions in Year 1, 3 and 6. We use the Charanga Music scheme as a progressive scheme throughout the school. We have a fortnightly singing session in collective worship and produce musical and perform mini music concerts.
Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
MFL
At our school, we want children to learn British Sign Language (BSL) because it reflects our vision of loving and learning together, for life, as Jesus taught us. BSL fosters inclusion, empathy, and respect—values rooted in Jesus’ teachings of compassion and community. By learning BSL, children build meaningful connections with others, including those in the Deaf community, and develop lifelong communication skills. It empowers every child to be a loving, inclusive citizen who embraces diversity. Through BSL, we nurture hearts and minds to live out our vision in both learning and relationships.
