Profile: My association with Leonard Stanley School began in 1989 when I was appointed as a Key Stage 1 teacher. During the 27 happy years I spent in that role, I served on the governing body twice as the staff representative. Not wanting to walk away when I retired, I was very fortunate to be asked to fill the role of LA Governor.
As a governor, I feel it is essential to do all I can to help ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and in every other way while enjoying their time at our school. The caring, friendly, and supportive ethos shown to all involved in school life, has always impressed me and is something I will strive to encourage and maintain through my role.

I was delighted to be appointed as governor and am committed to ensuring all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
In my professional life I have been a journalist for the BBC, Head of Communications for the police, and now split my time between communications for our local council and a county-wide coalition that strives to make Gloucestershire a better place for young people. I hope to bring some of these skills to my role as governor and help the school reach its potential to be truly outstanding.

Having chaired FOLSS, our school PTA, for four years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting our school community and helping to raise funds for resources that make a real difference to our children’s education. I was delighted to take on the role of Parent Governor, as I’m passionate about ensuring every child at Leonard Stanley receives the best possible education and support, both inside and outside the classroom. Ours is a truly special school, with a dedicated team of teachers and staff, and a school family that lives out its values of respect, resilience, and kindness every day. I feel honoured to work alongside the leadership team and my fellow governors to help maintain a positive, supportive, and enriching environment for every child.
