Midday Supervisor (MDSA)

We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic midday supervisor to join our friendly school team.

At our school, we believe that lunchtime is much more than just a break in the day – it is one of the most important opportunities for children to develop socially. Through play, children learn to build friendships, solve problems, develop resilience and simply enjoy being children. We are looking for a warm and approachable person who shares our belief that play matters and who will help make lunchtime a happy, safe and positive experience for every child.

As a midday supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring the welfare and safety of our children while they enjoy their lunch and spend time playing outdoors. You will encourage positive behaviour, support children to build healthy friendships, help create enjoyable play opportunities and be a reassuring adult presence throughout the lunchtime period. The role also includes administering basic first aid when required, so we are looking for someone who is calm, caring and able to use their initiative.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Enjoy spending time with children and building positive relationships.
  • Be kind, patient and approachable.
  • Be a positive role model who encourages respectful behaviour.
  • Be proactive in supporting children to play, include others and resolve minor disagreements.
  • Work well as part of a team and be dependable.

The contract is for 1.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, paid at Grade 2 pro rata, term time only, commencing 1st September 2026.

Working hours will be between 12pm and 1.30pm each day.

If you're looking for a rewarding part-time role that fits around the school day and holidays, and you'd love to make a real difference to children's wellbeing and happiness, we'd love to hear from you.

To apply, please complete the application form that can be found on our website and return it to us at admin@leonardstanley.gloucs.sch.uk by Friday, 10th July.

Leonard Stanley C of E Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
