Reception 2026
It is with great pleasure that we extend our warmest welcome to you and your child at Leonard Stanley CofE Primary School.
I understand that each of you has a different level of connection with our school. For many of you, we are thrilled that you have chosen Leonard Stanley again, as you already have a child attending. For the rest, this marks the beginning of a new and hopefully exciting collaboration.
Whether you have a long-standing relationship with us or are just starting out, the most important thing to know is that we are eager to build a strong partnership with you, focused on your child. I often tell our stakeholders that there is no finish line in education; we strive every day to achieve and celebrate successes in a safe and happy environment. Our journey is always evolving, and we welcome you to be part of that evolution.
Over your child’s next seven years, our school won’t stand still. I don’t know what it will look like in seven years from now, but what I do know is that every single one of you is invited to help shape that evolution alongside myself and my team in school. When we work together in an environment of mutual respect, ultimately the children are always the winners.
At Leonard Stanley, the first and most important vehicle for achieving such success is our vision statement, Loving and Learning together, for Life, as Jesus Taught Us, and our set of values, focused on ideal characteristics:
Kindness
Respect
Resilience
I hope you find these values are ones that mirror your own personal values.
This section of the website is designed to provide you with a wealth of information about the next steps along the journey of your child becoming a pupil at Leonard Stanley. We will keep updating it throughout the summer with relevant information for you. Please remember, if there are any outstanding questions or if you simply would like to continue learning about our school before September, the door is open. Book a meeting or a tour with us via the school office, and we’ll be delighted to welcome you and offer our help. There is also lots of information on the current reception page, which may be useful.
Parents' Information Evening, 11th June
Thursday 11th June at 6pm in the school's reception class.
This will give us an opportunity to provide some more information about your child's first year at school and allow you to ask any questions that you may have. We will really focus in on what school readiness looks like and what you can do over the summer to help your child feel prepared. There will be lots of information shared, so we recommend arranging child care if you can, but if you can't, we understand, and your child is welcome to attend.
Moving Up Session
Friday July 3rd, 9.00-11.00am
This session is designed to give the children the chance to spend time in their new classrooms, with their new classmates and their new adults. This is a 'drop-and-go' session for parents as we look to build your child's confidence and independence at Leonard Stanley.
